Background

Marijn began his career at McKinsey, and rejoined the firm in 2017 after its acquisition of Risk Dynamics. He led the organizational integration on people topics, and set up the people function, including recruitment, staffing, learning and development. He has seen this function grow from under 20 at acquisition to 150-plus colleagues, along with geographical expansion in the US, Europe, India, and China.

Prior to rejoining McKinsey, Marijn was co-founder and CEO at Eleos, a pharmaceutical company. He was an investment associate at Waterland Private Equity, a €6 billion pan-European private equity fund. After his stint as a business analyst and associate in McKinsey’s Brussels office, Marijn had multiple experiences in the social sector, including at Acumen Fund in Ghana, Ashoka in India, and TechnoServe in Honduras.

Marijn received an MBA from The Wharton School, as a Fulbright Scholar and with an MBA Fellowship from the Belgian American Education Foundation. He also holds a master’s degree in management from the Solvay Business School, and a master’s degree in electrical and mechanical engineering from the University of Leuven.
