Luis heads up Risk Dynamics in Latin America, and is one of our global leaders in credit risk modelling and risk advanced analytics. He serves on our Risk Dynamics Executive Committee.
Background
Since joining McKinsey & Company in 2013, Luis has helped global banks and other institutions take on their most important challenges in risk management and analytics, strategy, regulatory response, and operational excellence.
He has held leadership roles in our Banking and Risk & Resilience Practices, including global co-head of the Credit Risk Service Line, and leader of risk analytics for the Americas. He has served on the Corporate and Investment Banking Practice Executive Committee.
Prior to McKinsey, Luis played senior roles in corporate and investment banking and risk management during a 15-year banking career spanning three continents. Roles included global head of credit risk modelling at UBS AG, co-head of southern European securitization at Lehman Brothers. Also at Lehman, he was managing director and head of corporate and public sector risk solutions for southern Europe. Luis has been a frequent speaker at risk management conferences on credit risk and capital topics for over 20 years.
He received an A.B. from Harvard College in mathematics, magna cum laude, and a J.D. from Yale Law School. He is fluent in Spanish, English, and Italian. He recently moved to the Santiago Office after serving in New York and Stamford, CT.
