Juan Antonio helps risk management executives at leading financial institutions and corporations upgrade their risk management practices and respond to regulatory and supervisory requirements. He leads McKinsey’s Risk & Resilience Practice in Iberia, and serves on the Risk Dynamics Executive Committee.

Background

For more than 15 years, Juan Antonio has served clients on a diversity of risk and strategy related themes. Most recently, he has supported programs to improve compliance with regulatory requirements and accounting standards, including:

  • Increasing granularity and coverage of the internal ratings-based approach to capital requirements
  • Complying with Basel Committee Standard 239 on risk data aggregation and reporting
  • Developing and enhancing of International Financial Reporting Standard 9 models
  • Enhancing the risk appetite framework of several banks
  • Restructuring corporate credit portfolios
Prior to McKinsey, he worked at Renault headquarters in operations. He holds a double diploma in industrial engineering from Polytechnic University at Madrid and Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Techniques Avancées at Paris. He also has an MBA from the London Business School.
