Elias advises major Latin American financial institutions on challenges related to strategy, data and advanced analytics, and enterprise risk management. He is a leader in McKinsey’s Financial Institutions Practice, where he heads up the Corporate and Investment Banking Group. He leads the firm’s Risk Management Practice in Latin America, and heads the Practice’s Data Strategy Service Line.

Background

Since joining McKinsey in 2005, Elias has worked with numerous financial institutions in more than 10 countries in the Americas and Asia.
He has helped clients improve their strategic thinking in a context of digital disruption, supported their application of advanced analytics at scale, and enhanced risk management, including projects on credit risk, risk culture, pricing, capital management, and collections. He has helped banks improve their management and business models, and enhance efficiency.
He has helped non-financial corporate clients build resilience, and develop their data strategies.

Elias holds a Master in Business Administration degree from Harvard University, and a Master of Science in Operations Research and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Universidade Estadual de Campinas in São Paulo, Brazil.
